LG Increase Production of 3D TV
LG Electronics Inc.. will encourage the sale of three-dimensional television (3D) with a target of 20 per cent market share in international markets.

Total sales of televisions in the world reached 200 million units this year, 10 percent of whom is a 3D TV sales. Head of Marketing for Motorola's Home Entertainment Unit Kwan Sup Lee, Sunday (09/04/2011) in Berlin, said that LG is likely to reach 20 percent this television market, from just 4 percent at the beginning of the year.
"If we can continue to strive hard to develop the development of a new premium segment (3D TV), we can make a trend and establish yourself as an innovator," said Lee was quoted as saying by Bloomberg.
According to Lee, with the latest Film Patterned Retarder (FPR), then the special glasses to enjoy 3D display can be made more lightweight and comfortable. So far, only Philips and Toshiba companies that use this technology, while Sony is still considering it.
Bloomberg said the increase in market share of television is an attempt to cover up the LG mobile phone unit sales are down this year, from 8 percent at the beginning of the year to 5.7 percent in the second quarter in the global market.
